Te Whare Tapa Wha

This year we have been learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and how it helps us. We made a slide to show the things we do to help us for each part. We need to keep all parts of our whare strong to be happy, healthy and safe.

Term 4 Basic Facts

 We enjoy practising our basic facts each day using Prototec.  We also try and beat the clock on paper throughout the year.  Here is my Term 4 results.  I am proud of passing stage 4

 A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to KawaKawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.

Caving and Glow

Vaseline Saucer

 For pet day 2021 we created Vaseline Saucers.  We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns.  Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work.  Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

 Last week we visited the Life Education Caravan.  We were learning about Te Whare Tapa Wha and Resilience.  Here is a google draw we made up to help us think and remember what resilience is.

Moari shapes

Movie Making

 In Team  Awa we had an outdoor learning day. We got to go outside and make huts around the back. We were leaning about how movie making is like writing a story and that we needed to take different types of movie shots. Here is some examples of what I learned. 

  

Hut Making Movie

 On outdoor classroom day we went out the back to make movies about hut making. I learnt that do not take a video when the sun is behind you. 

It was easy to do the pan shot. 

It was hard to talking about what we were going to make the hut.  It was hard to to edit because we had a 30 minute video.

I liked mixing the mud, and adding the music to the video.

Transformations

 We have been learning about transformation. We learnt how to show reflection, rotation and translation.

Autumn Leaf Writing

 We found a leaf outside. We drew it and wrote juicy words to help us write a descriptive piece.

I learnt that we need to keep a river clean with no rubbish, so the rubbish isn't in the river to hurt the animals.
